Requirements and Mission Statement

Although your child does not meet the deadline of August 2 to attend the 3 and 4 year old class, that does not mean they are not eligible.  Instead of attending two years of preschool, they will be going three.  Whether they attend two years in the 3-4 class or two years in the 4-5 class will be determined by their level at the end of the school year.  Below is a list of skills that each child needs to know before they enter at a younger age.  Our number one priority is the child, so we do not want a child to attend and be overwhelmed by what we are doing.  So please go over this with your child.

  • The child can use the restroom with little to no help
  • The child can speak clearly for teachers to understand and interpret the child's needs
  • The child can count to 10
  • The child is able to attempt singing their ABCs
  • The child is able to sit for an age appropriate story (5 to 10 minutes)
  • The child is able to use writing utensils (crayons, markers, paint burshes, etc.)
  • The child is able to take instructions without arguments (following directions at a young age can be difficult because the child does not always understand why, so we want to make sure they are able to comprehend certain directions)
  • The child can drink out of a normal cup (we do not use sippy cups)
  • The child is able to tell us simple information such as name, age and other basic information.

Mission Statement: To provide acclimation to the classroom setting in a Christian Environment.

We are a non-profit Christian community preschool. We welcome each child with Christian love and concern and we treat each child as a unique child of God. We hope this environment will build feelings of self-worth and self-confidence and that these attitudes will serve our children all of their lives.

Our curriculum is based on activities which are developmentally appropriate for two and three year old children. Efforts are made to provide ways in which the children can grow spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively.

Opportunities are made for development large and small muscle motor skills and many opportunities are provided for stimulating language and building social skills. Learning to listen and learning to follow directions are essential to successful participation in the program.

Children are naturally curious and eager to learn. Nurturing the whole child is basic to our educational vision. We strive to provide an environment in which each child continues to love learning and looks forward to a lifetime of educational opportunities.

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:11
